Cute as hell, quirky and sleek. I want this ...

Oh, my gosh. This is really special. Once and for all we can all dress up like mad scientists and perform our own theme music for our world-domination plans ... Gleetchplug has developed a stylish new music software that has a clearly limited but inspiring concept: It reproduces the sound of a typical "Studio für elektronische Klangerzeugung". I'm glad its called "Berna" and not "Stocki" though I live in Cologne, one of the capitals for early electronic music ... But I am babbling, hear for yourself:

Introducing Berna vintage electronic studio from Tobor Experiment on Vimeo.

Unfortunately it comes out on the most un-nerdy computer platform ever conceived: Mac. I pray for a PC-Version anytime soon...

twila.too feat. bob humid - "Minus 22" [bob humid's broombox RMX] by SERVEANDDESTROY

This is a rework of "Minus 22", a track that can be found on twila.too's debut album "Crossed Lines", which came out mids of 2009 on SERVE & DESTROY. The remix features a definitive breakbeaty attitude and a more exagerated rave-stab pad in that part with the pounding drums that represents the instrumental verse. Try this track after The Knife or The Presets or after an electronic Siouxie-Track. The Track is free for download. But strobe & fog has to be ordered spearately ...

Mathew Mercer's "LikeLike" Bob Humid's Stemmer RMX - 2009 REMASTER by SERVEANDDESTROY

This is a remix of Mathew Mercer's "LikeLike" [out on Mathias Schaffhaeuser's imprint WARE Records] that I did some time ago. It also features some heavy weight sub-basses and cut-up vocal snippets and 2 alternating snares which altogether create an organic groove, hold together by a few instances of UAD-1 LA-2As. Interestingly this little tune didn't get old at all if we look at actual Nu Disco mayhem and the overall growing magnitude of rave-signal oscillations. There will be always a place in my heart for strobe and fog. Bring it on, I breath that shit... [picture courtesy of who killed bambi?]

Nachttierhaus "El Topo" Bob Humid RMX

Remix Job for the german Deep Fusion Jazz Combo Nachttierhaus. As with Jazz I'm more for a puristic approach so I took out the jammy solo-parts of the original and concentrated on the moodier and heavier parts of the track... Remember; "If there's only Cats coming to the Jam, the fucking thing is dead!" (Miles Davis)

EDC / Esprit Website Score Bob Humid RMX by SERVEANDDESTROY

I recently produced this remix for the tinseltown music crowd. It features tracks from the original score for the EDC (Esprit Sublabel) Fashion brand. Rework includes dynamic Filter Sweeps layed-out with Samplitude's FFT-Filter and some heavy Re-Amping with Cyanide 2, my favourite Distortion VST-Plug-In. Strangely, all come out like a reclothed version of Big Beat. Ready for 2009? You decide.
